Disney’s Character Dining Has Returned With Many New Safety Guidelines In Place

For those of you who have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to resume your fun at Disney, this just might be the news that you've been waiting on: Mickey and his pals are once again hosting character dining! But there are a few changes to the iconic opt-in you need to be aware of.

Though Chef Mickey's is known for its meet-and-greet experience that allows guests to dine and rub elbows with Mickey and his crew, as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the popular dinner service was previously suspended. Now, however, WDW News Today reports that the experience is back, but the full meet-and-greet experience is not something you'll get.

According to the site, if you stop by the restaurant at Disney's Contemporary Resort anytime soon, the gang will still be in attendance, but they'll be entertaining you at a distance. That's not all that's changed, though. Guests who dine at the popular eatery while visiting will have a prix-fixed menu that's an "all-you-care-to-enjoy" family-style breakfast (served 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or dinner (served 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) priced at $55 for adults and $36 for children. Not too shabby, if you ask me.

If you do decide to stop by, you can rest assured knowing that COVID-19 health and safety guidelines are still in full effect. That means tables will be distanced six feet apart and that masks are required unless you're actively eating or dinking while seated. As a reminder, this restaurant offers no outside eating and you'll still have to reserve your spot for breakfast or dinner.
