Young Huh was previously at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., leading coverage, M&A and capital markets deals in Korea. He also worked in debt capital markets at Goldman’s in Hong Kong, and with Citigroup Inc.’s investment banking team in Korea. Most recently he was chief executive officer of the Nature Company and JangCha, according to the memo.

The bank has been on a hiring spree in Asia to take market share from Wall Street rivals. It has made senior hires in investment banking across the region from the likes of Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, among others.

Deutsche Bank gave Samuel Kim, its chairman of M&A in Asia Pacific, the additional position of chief country officer earlier this year.

Recent deals in Korea where Deutsche Bank has played a key role include SK Bioscience Co.’s purchase of a 60.6% stake in IDT Biologika GmbH and Blackstone Inc.’s sale of pharmaceuticals distributor Geo-Young Corp. to MBK Partners.
