Cramer: 'I wish I could be more bullish'

CNBC's Jim Cramer doesn't see an upward path for the market heading into next year, especially in retail.

"I'm trying to find a retailer that is having a good season," he told " Squawk on the Street " on Friday. "As someone who looks at individual companies, I cannot find a single company in this industry group who is doing better than three months ago."

"I wish I could be more bullish."

U.S. retail sales rose 0.2 percent in November, the Commerce Department said Friday.

Cramer also said another bearish sign for the market is the way shares of Dow Chemical (NYSE: DOW) and DuPont (NYSE: DD) are performing after formally announcing a $130 billion merger deal.

"Concerns that this market is hazardous is driving these stocks down rather than up," he said.

Dow and DuPont shares were down more than 2 percent midmorning Friday.

Disclosure: Cramer's trust owned shares of Dow Chemical, but not DuPont, when this article was published.
