Julia James: Cousin of murdered PCSO says 'we will not rest' as she vows to get justice

The cousin of murdered PCSO Julia James has said the family "will not rest" until they get justice for her.

No arrests have been made as police consider "all possible" motives for Ms James' killing near Dover in Kent.

Her body was discovered with serious head wounds in Akholt Wood on Tuesday 27 April.

Ms James' cousin Sam Griffin, a presenter on Radio Ashford, posted on Twitter today: "Say her name... share her smile... someone somewhere knows something about my cousin's murder.

"My family, her friends and colleagues will not rest."

Ms Griffin had posted on Facebook earlier this week: "Where is the uproar about my beautiful cousin? Where is the huge outrage and pouring of despair? Where are the vigils and protests about her murder?"

Ms James was killed while out walking her dog close to her home in the village of Snowdown.

Officers from Kent Police warned the public to be "very safe and very careful" on Tuesday as the murder probe enters its second week.

Police have admitted they are "in deep shock" over the death of their colleague.

Mourners, including Ms James' daughter Bethan Coles, left lit candles on their doorsteps in tribute to the "fiercely loyal" 53-year-old yesterday.

Ms Coles said in a Facebook post: "A number of people have asked about holding a vigil for Mum, and whilst I am so grateful for people wanting to remember her, I am very conscious that any gathering would need to be policed (if it was even allowed).

"I've discussed this with my family and we are in agreement that we would prefer all police resources to be concentrating on the investigation as there is so much work to be done."

Instead she suggested people wishing to remember her mother should light a candle for her and leave it on their doorstep.
