Best Buy names new CEO, Trump gives Boeing advice, American Airlines cancels Max flights

Here are the companies Yahoo Finance is watching today.

There’s a change at the top at Best Buy (BBY). The CFO, Corie Barry, has been named the new CEO. She'll take over in June as the company's first female chief executive. Current CEO Hubert Joly will become executive chairman.

President Trump has some advice for Boeing (BA). He tweeted this morning that the aerospace giant should “FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.” There's no sign Boeing plans to follow the second two suggestions, but it is working on a software fix for the jet that's been grounded after two deadly crashes.

American Airlines (AAL) is joining Southwest in cancelling all of its Max flights into August. Between the two carriers, that means upwards of 275 flights a day. For American, that translates to about 1.5% of all daily flights. They've been flying other jets on some routes the Max once served.

Google (GOOG) is breaking up another panel in the UK that was set to review its artificial intelligence work in health care, according to the Wall Street Journal. The news comes amid disputes between the council and DeepMind, Google’s AI unit in the UK, over access to information and the unit's independence from Google.

Apple's (AAPL) main production partner is moving to India this year. Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou said the iPhone will go into mass production in India. The news represents a shift for Foxconn, which has long assembled Apple products in China. Gou also said he plans to step down in the coming months to help pave the way for younger talent.
