Clues are piling up around the mysterious 24th 'Overwatch' hero

The world of Overwatch is getting ready to unveil its 24th hero and clues are being dropped left and right about who — or what — the next hero is going to be.

A new post on the Overwatch Twitter shows a list likely titled "Things to get" written by the character Efi Oladele, an 11-year-old genius who was first revealed last week. Her interests in robotics and artificial intelligence led to speculation that she may be building the next Overwatch hero, and the list below supports that theory.

The first item on the list, an OR-15 chassis, refers to the body of a defense robot. Another tweet from the Overwatch Twitter revealed that sever OR-15s were destroyed in a "major confrontation" (probably with Doomfist) at the Numbani airport, where Oladele is from.

The changes to the airport are present in the Overwatch public test region on PC, where players noticed the destroyed OR-15s appear to be centaur-esque quadrupeds. Oladele may want an OR-15 chassis for building her own robot.

The next bullet point on Oladele's list, Branford arm, is an unknown item, but it could be some sort of attachment Oladele could use to improve the capabilities of her robot. The fusion driver would likely be something that powers her creation.

The fourth item on the list is interesting — a miniature tolbelstein reactor. The hero Zarya uses a tobelstein reactor to power her gun, which is spelled almost exactly like Oladele's tolbelstein reactor. It's possible that Oladele just misspelled tobelstein and is looking for some way to give her robot some offensive power.

The fifth item is the only item crossed off the list, an Axiom vocal processor. Axiom is a technology/robotics company with a location in Numbani, and it's possible Oladele (or her parents) purchased a vocal processor for use in her robot. The processor is likely the item on the right side of the picture that looks like a stick of RAM.

The final item, of course, is Lúcio-Oh's, the perfect, brain-fueling cereal for young geniuses designing robots.

Next to the list are some other items — a box of Lúcio-Ohs, some wires, a pen, the Axiom vocal processor, a wrench, a small sketch of what looks like a robot head and some blueprint schematics.

Most of these things are pretty innocuous and don't offer too much information aside from the sketch of the head, which may give a hint toward how the 24th hero will look, and the wrench.

The numbers 5-19 on the wrench have some people speculating about the release of the next Overwatch hero. Some think it could be a date, May 19, but that seems pretty far away considering Blizzard mentioned it won't make its hero reveals as drawn out as Sombra's.

Adding the numbers together gives us 24, a clear indication that this is all related to the 24th hero (which we already assume). But if you subtract 19 from five, you get -14. March 14 is a Tuesday — Blizzard's typical patch day — two weeks from today. March 14 is potentially the start of Season 4 and may be the day that the next hero is revealed.

Of course, all of this speculation could be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see.

What about Doomfist?

There seem to be two simultaneous events happening in the Overwatch universe at the moment. The first is what's laid out above, Oladele building some sort of robotic hero. The second is Doomfist, who may have stolen the Doomfist gauntlet from the payload of Numbani and battled against the OR-15 defense bots in the Numbani airport.

Oldaele's ventures into robotics are almost directly related to these events that seem to involve Doomfist. The destroyed OR-15s at the Numbani airport may be the perfect scraps for Oladele's project, and Doomfist may be the perfect foil for her idealistic approach to robotics and artificial intelligence.

We previously theorized that Doomfist may not in fact be a playable hero, at least not at first. Doomfist may appear as a part of a PvE event, similar to the Junkenstein's Revenge event during the Halloween season in 2016.

The fact that two different characters are being teased at the same time supports this theory. Thus far, Blizzard has only released new heroes one at a time with quite a bit of space in between. This allows players to feel out the new character and adjust to whatever meta changes the new hero brings with it.

We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for information from inside and outside the game and keep you updated on the latest happenings in the mysterious Overwatch universe.
