Yahoo Finance Christian Eriksen update: Denmark star reassures fans he ‘feels okay’ in new public message from hospital
Christian Eriksen has reassured fans that he “feels okay” as he sent a new public message from his hospital bed in Copenhagen on Tuesday.
Eriksen is currently recovering and undergoing further tests in Rigshospitalet after suffering a cardiac arrest during the first half of Denmark’s Euro 2020 Group B opener against Finland at Parken Stadium on Saturday evening.
In an update posted to his official Instagram account on Tuesday morning, Eriksen, alongside a picture of himself smiling and giving the thumbs up, said: “Hello everyone, big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from around the world. It means a lot to me and my family.
“I’m fine - under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.”
In the message that was also relayed by the Danish FA on Twitter, Eriksen added: “Now I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark. Best, Christian.”

Eriksen collapsed in distressing scenes shortly before half-time of Saturday’s match and received prolonged treatment from medics, who administered CPR, before being transferred to Rigshospitalet.
Denmark’s team doctor Martin Boesen later confirmed the cardiac arrest and said that the Inter Milan midfielder “was gone” before being quickly resuscitated on the pitch after one defibrillation, with Eriksen’s distraught team-mates forming a protective ring around the 29-year-old.
In his first public message to fans following the emergency sent via agent Martin Schoots on Monday, Eriksen, who was described as being in a stable and good condition, said: “Thank you, I won’t give up. I feel better now - but I want to understand what’s happened.
“I want to say thank you all for what you did for me.”
Denmark next face Belgium in Copenhagen on Thursday evening and on Monday Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel said the team could “do something special” at the Euros for Eriksen.
After visiting the former Tottenham star in hospital, Schmeichel said: “It was damn nice to see him smile and laugh and be himself and just feel that he is there. It was a great experience and something that has helped me a lot.
“We’re still in the tournament. Now, we have to try to see if we can win this and do it for Christian and do it for all the fans who sat with us and were just as powerless in the situation as we were.
“I have no doubt that this team has the unity, the strength to be able to come together and go out and do something special.”
