Chrissy Teigen says Duchess Meghan reached out after she lost baby Jack: 'She's been so kind'

Chrissy Teigen and Duchess Meghan have formed an unlikely bond.

During a virtual appearance on "Watch What Happens Live!" Tuesday, Teigen revealed Duchess Meghan reached out to her after Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss in September.

"She's been so kind to me ever since we connected," Teigen told host Andy Cohen, while comfortably snuggled on her couch in a purple robe. "She had written me about baby Jack and loss, but yeah she is really wonderful and so kind."

The 35-year-old mother of two said Meghan is "just as kind as everyone says she is." Meghan, 39, is expecting her second child with Prince Harry, a baby girl, this summer.

Duchess Meghan first announced in November that she had suffered a miscarriage in July in a New York Times opinion piece titled "The Losses We Share," with the tagline: "Perhaps the path to healing begins with three simple words: Are you OK?"

Following the duchess' announcement, Teigen took to Twitter to reveal that she was not OK. Just months earlier, Teigen and husband John Legend publicly mourned the loss of their third child, a son they named Jack.

"I’m not tweeting much because I’m honestly in a bit of a grief depression hole," Teigen wrote on Nov. 25. "Do not worry as I have so much help around me to get better and I’ll be fixed soon."

On Tuesday, Teigen said her personal experience with Duchess Meghan's kindness directly contradicts the British tabloid mocking and racist vitriol the royal has faced.

"That's why you look at everything and you're like 'My god, what is absolutely wrong with people that they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy?'" Teigen told Cohen. "When it's just as simple as them being as kind as everyone says they are."

Teigen said she tuned into Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March and applauded Meghan for being "very honest (and) open" about her experience in the British monarchy: "I think her truth has been her truth since the very beginning."
