Yahoo Finance Chipotle’s Carne Asada Is Back On The Menu Just In Time For Taco Tuesday
Chipotle is bringing back its fan favorite carne asada so you can mix up your burritos, tacos, and bowls this month. The protein option was available last year and will return to menus for a limited time.
Not only is the carne asada option being revived in the United States, but it will also be available again in Canada and debuted in France for the first time ever. This expansion to France makes it the first new protein option in the European market.
Chipotle's carne asada is beef that is grilled fresh daily and seasoned with a variety of spices before being finished off with a fresh squeeze of lime and chopped cilantro. The protein is also Whole30, keto, and paleo-approved so anyone who is following such a diet can opt for this protein at the chain.
In a press release, Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt explained the process of bringing back the beloved meat option to Chipotle menus. Chipotle guarantees that the beef used for their carne asada has no antibiotics or added hormones.
"To bring back Carne Asada to our menu, we underwent an extensive vetting process to find more suppliers that meet our stringent Food with Integrity standards. Our fans love our Carne Asada because they can taste the care and culinary expertise that goes into this recipe from farm to bowl," he said.
The roll-out will begin starting today through September 23, with exclusive access to carne asada for Chipotle Rewards members via the app or website. Then on September 24 through September 27, it will be a digital order-only item for all guests. Finally on September 28, the carne asada will be available in restaurants and on all digital channels including delivery services.
