A small town in Alberta is now home to a giant Cheetos statue

The latest roadside attraction in a small Canadian town of Cheadle, Alta., is a giant Cheeto — the so-called Cheetle Hand Statue.

The monument, which is more than 5 metres tall (that's almost 17 feet), is of a thumb and two fingers holding a Cheetos Puffs snack in the air. The fingers are covered in the Cheetos orange dust, which now has an official name— "Cheetle."

The statue intends to celebrate the orange bright dust you get on your fingers while eating Cheetos.

"Cheetos fans have always known that the delicious, cheesy dust on their fingertips is an unmistakably delicious part of the Cheetos experience, but now it officially has a name: Cheetle," said Lisa Allie, Senior Marketing Director, PepsiCo Foods Canada.

The brand says that they were on the lookout for a “perfect” home for their statue for some mischievous fun when they came across the hamlet in Alberta whose name, Cheadle, is a homonym for the dust, Cheetle.

“Large unconventional monuments have been popping up around the world for years, and now Cheetos is making its orange mark in Cheadle, Alberta,” the brand's news release said.

Canadians have until Nov. 4 to visit the Cheetle Hand Statue on 400 Railway Ave. in Cheadle, Alta.

Fans are being asked to share photos of themselves with the statue on social media by tagging @cheetoscanada and using #CheetleinCheadle and #ItsaCheetosThing.

“While our residents will be the first to see the unique moment, we can’t wait for the rest of Canada to see it for themselves,” said President of the Cheadle Community Club, James Gostelli.

Canada is home to several notable roadside attractions such as the giant Easter egg in Vegreville, a dinosaur in Drumheller, a UFO landing pad in St. Paul, a giant moose statue in Moose Jaw, and many more.
