Would you like charges with that? Drunk driver busted in McDonald's drive-thru

A trip through a McDonald's restaurant drive-thru didn't end the way a Marystown man expected it to.

RCMP in Marystown responded to a complaint of a possible drunk driver around 2 a.m. Thursday.

It didn't take long for police to respond, since the fast-food restaurant is adjacent to the detachment.

After testing the 26-year-old man's blood-alcohol levels, police said he was found to be nearly four times the legal limit.

On top of impaired driving, the Marystown man is facing charges of driving without registration, driving outside insurance and driving while his licence is suspended.

The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

He was released from custody to appear at provincial court in Grand Bank on Sept. 23.
