Canadian cannabis products maker Flowr Corp. (TSXV: FLWR) (OTC: FLWPF) said that it hired celebrated Canadian chef Ryan Reed to develop edible cannabis products for the Flowr brand. Chef Reed is a past winner of Iron Chef and Chopped and Victoria’s 2011 Chef of the Year.

Vancouver, Canada-based SpeakEasy Cannabis Club Ltd. (CSE: EASY), a late-stage applicant under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, has appointed David Cross as CFO. Cross is currently a partner at Cross Davis & Co. LLP Chartered Professional Accountants.

Another Vancouver-based Harvest One Cannabis (TSX-V: HVT) (OTCQX: HRVOF) has reported its financial and operating results for the three and six months ended December 31, 2018, the company’s second quarter of fiscal year 2019. Revenue arrived at $3.7 million, a quarter-over-quarter increase of 123%.

Ontario, Canada-based Empower Clinics (CSE: EPW) (Frankfurt 8EC), which owns and operates a network of medical cannabis clinics, unveiled plans to open a hemp-based CBD extraction facility in greater Portland, Oregon. Targeted for opening in the second quarter of this year, the extraction system would have the capacity to produce 6,000 kg of extracted product per year.

Khiron Life Sciences Corp. (TSXV: KHRN) (OTCQB: KHRNF) has closed its “bought deal” short form prospectus offering of common shares, including the exercise in full of the over-allotment option. A total of 13,110,000 common shares were sold at $2.20 per share for aggregate proceeds of around $28.84 million.

Ontario-based cannabis consulting firm PipeDreemz has partnered with international compliance software company Isolocity to streamline the compliance standards in the Canadian cannabis industry. The software firm will help PipeDreemz in meeting Quality Management Software and Good Manufacturing Practices standards.

Cannabis firm Liberty Health Sciences (CSE: LHS) (OTCQX: LHSIF) is opening a new dispensary in Orange Park, Fla., subject to approvals of the Florida Department of Health. The company also announced that construction is complete on the first phase of its Liberty 360 Innovation Campus in Gainesville, Fla.
