Canadian consumer confidence rises in Q4: Investors Group-Harris Decima

By The Canadian Press

WINNIPEG - Investors Group and Harris Decima say all regions of Canada have showed stronger consumer confidence since the beginning of 2013.

On a national level, their index of consumer confidence in the fourth quarter was 84.4 — up nearly seven points from the first quarter.

Alberta's index stood at 95.0 in the fourth quarter — the highest in the country, followed by the Manitoba-Saskatchewan region at 90.7.

Ontario was in line with the national average at 85 points at the end of the year.

Atlantic Canada (81.5), Quebec (80.3) and British Columbia (79.7) were all below the national average in terms of consumer confidence.
