Calgary Home Sales Down 12% In September
There’s further evidence that Canada’s housing market is cooling rapidly as home sales in
Calgary during September declined 12% from a year ago.
The Calgary Real Estate Board said that home sales in the Alberta city totalled 1,901 for the
month of September as sales of detached homes fell 23% from a year ago and sales of semi-
detached homes dropped 27%.
However, sales of apartments in Calgary rose 23% compared to September 2021, while row
houses gained 3%.
The Calgary Real Estate Board said September saw new listings decline by 10% compared with
a year ago, while inventory levels were 20% lower than in September 2021.

Benchmark prices rose 11% in September compared with the same month of last year and were
up 6% compared with the start of this year.
Looking at the first three quarters, housing sales in Calgary totalled 24,977, up 15% from the
first nine months of 2021.
