Brighton vs Liverpool: Prediction, TV channel, live stream, team news, h2h results - Premier League preview

Liverpool have the chance to go top of the Premier League when they travel to Brighton for today’s lunchtime kick-off.

The Reds currently trail leaders Tottenham on goal difference, but with Spurs facing a tricky clash with Chelsea on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp’s men have the chance to put on some early title-race pressure.

Klopp has complained about the hectic fixture list, which sees his side in action early this weekend despite having played in Europe in midweek.

The German rotated his side for the Champions League group stage meeting with Atalanta, but the move backfired as the Italians ran out 2-0 winners at Anfield.

Date, time and venue

Brighton vs Liverpool is scheduled for a 12:30pm GMT kick-off today (Saturday, November 28, 2020).

The match will be held behind closed doors at the Amex Stadium in Brighton.

How to watch

TV channel: Today’s match will be televised on BT Sport 1, with coverage from 11:30am.

Live stream: BT Sport subscribers will be able to watch the match online via the BT Sport website and the app.

Team news

Brighton will be without the suspended Tariq Lamptey. Ex-Reds midfielder Adam Lallana is being assessed, Solly March is expected to be available despite a slight ankle issue and the fit-again Leandro Trossard could make his return to the matchday squad.

Davy Propper and Alexis Mac Allister have both been missing due to illness. Propper is ready to return, but it is thought the game will come too soon for Mac Allister.

Brighton provisional squad: Ryan, Steele, White, Webster, Dunk, Bernardo, Burn, Veltman, Bissouma, Trossard, Gross, Lallana, Jahanbakhsh, Alzate, March, Propper, Molumby, Connolly, Maupay, Welbeck.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could return after a thigh injury sustained on international duty.

The midfielder partially trained on Thursday for the first time and has a chance of being included.

Jurgen Klopp will still be without midfielders Naby Keita (hamstring), Thiago Alcantara (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (muscle), defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold (calf), Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez (both knee) but will restore his first-choice line-up after resting five players for the Champions League defeat to Atalanta.

Liverpool provisional squad: Alisson, Milner, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Jota, Mane, Adrian, N Williams, R Williams, Phillips, Tsimikas, Jones, Clarkson, Minamino, Origi.

Prediction: Brighton 0-3 Liverpool

Despite their issues at the back, Liverpool put in one of their best performances of the season so far to dismantle Leicester last weekend.

Klopp rested many of the stars of that display for their Champions League fixture and despite defeat in that game, the Reds should be able to prove it was a risk worth taking.
