A meticulously restored 1970 Maserati Ghibli Spyder.

A rare 1970 Maserati Ghibli Spyder, once graced by ownership under Bill Warner, chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, is now beckoning collectors on Bring a Trailer. This model, one of only 125 Spyders produced, showcases a rich history and exclusive pedigree that enhances its allure. Originally ordered through Trident Imported Motors by Charter Company founder Raymond K. Mason, this vehicle boasts a fascinating journey from its collection in Modena, Italy, to an illustrious life spanning several continents.

The Ghibli Spyder, chassis number 1087, has undergone extensive restoration to return it to its former glory. The car was repainted in its original Blu Medio and is powered by a 4.7-liter quad-cam V8, replete with four Weber carburetors and dry-sump lubrication, ensuring that it remains a formidable presence on the road. Notably, the vehicle has been fitted with a replacement Maserati V8 and a ZF five-speed manual transmission, enhancing its driveability and appeal.

Interior refinements include beige leather upholstery, air conditioning, power windows, and a classic push-button radio, offering a luxurious cabin atmosphere that is both authentic and comfortable. The car’s provenance is further enriched by its role in the finale of the 2011 film "Love, Wedding, Marriage," adding a touch of Hollywood to its storied existence.

Now offered for sale in North Salem, New York, this Ghibli Spyder comes with a matching two-piece luggage set, factory literature, a tool kit, and media from its film appearance, making it an extraordinary find for collectors and enthusiasts alike. With its detailed documentation and impeccable restoration, this Maserati not only represents a significant piece of automotive history but also a tangible connection to the legacy of one of the auto industry's most respected figures.
