Biden "concerned" over Boeing firefighters' lockout

May 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Thursday he is concerned by reports that Boeing has locked out its unionized firefighters, raising pressure on the U.S. planemaker to resolve the contract dispute.

Earlier this month, Boeing locked out members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local I-66 who have rejected two contract offers.

"I’m concerned by reports that Boeing locked out IAFF I-66 members," Biden wrote on the social media site X. "I encourage folks to return to the table to secure a deal that benefits Boeing and gets these firefighters the pay and benefits they deserve."

Boeing was not immediately available for comment.
