There comes a step-change with September, when the entire country seems to reset. Back to school/work vibes gives us a real reason to look forward to the weekend again, and spend quality time with friends and family once it arrives.
It’s now officially autumn, and temperatures will soon tumble down - so something to warm the cockles may be on your shopping list. If so, good news! Whisky lovers will know that this month marks Bourbon Heritage Month (officially September since 2007 - well, in the US at least) , so there’s never been a better time to kick back with something strong and sweet.
Elsewhere there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate with a glass of something special. From celebratory bottles of bubbles, plentiful plonk, and classic cocktail spirits like gin and vodka, we’ve found offers galore to add straight to basket.
Practising mindful drinking? There are plenty of low and no-alcohol concoctions to discover. See our dedicated roundup just for the category.

Love it or hate it?: Camden Marmite Ale launches
Beer for breakfast is rarely a good idea (holidays exempt, of course), but it turns out a breakfast staple-flavoured beer has legs - or so the tastemakers at Camden Town Brewery reckon. They’ve spiked their latest limited edition ale with the world’s most controversial toast topper, Marmite. Considering it’s already a byproduct of beer, we’re into this inspired version of recycling - but the question is, will the ale be the best thing since sliced bread? Race you to the bar to find out.

What’s emoji for winning wine?
Language is a continually evolving beast, and the modern hieroglyphic is the emoji. Those little characters can often illustrate our thoughts best and now they’re being employed to demystify our favourite grapes.
Wine and prosecco brand Liquid Diamond is making itself more appealing to a new generation of drinkers by using emojis for tasting notes. This may be sacrilege to serious oenophiles, but co-founder Alex Green explains: “The wine industry is guilty of taking itself too seriously and in the process can alienate consumers who just want something nice to drink…. we want to make this simple.” Gen Z gimmicky or pretentiousness-stripping? [insert shrugging woman emoji].
Save your blushes for this new Rosé Prosecco
Happy hour just got that bit more joyful; FIOL Rose has joined the UK’s Rosé Prosecco party. Made in Treviso and with a cluster of awards under its belt, the pretty pale blush sparkling wine is made for the warm Indian Summer we’ve been having. Expect sparkling fruitiness with berry scents balanced with sharp notes of lemon and white flowers. The Glera/Pinot Noit prosecco is just the tipple you need on standby for weekend socials.
