Automated Solutions International Inc. (ASI) Takes Overhead Distribution System Design to a New Dimension

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 28, 2012) - Utilities today are looking for ways to increase efficiency of the design process while maintaining a clear focus on safety. ASI's goStandards and goAssemble services provide utilities with 3D parts, assemblies and tools to combine assemblies on a single pole structure.

ASI's goStandards service is available as an on-line library of 2D or 3D parts and assemblies for overhead construction. The library contains individual part models with relevant manufacturer information for the designer.

"This is a paradigm shift for the electrical utility industry," says Peter Krotky, P.Eng, President of Automated Solutions International Inc. "Visualizing overhead standards in 3D improves safety by allowing the designer to verify clearances and working space for operations staff."

Using their cloud-based goAssemble service, assemblies may be combined based on user-defined industry standards such as CSA or RUS to create a complete pole design and generate a material list. These standard templates may be customized for each utility. The resulting model can be integrated to your GIS and/or structural analysis software. Their engineering team complements these on-line services to provide utilities with a complete outsourced design service.
