At Rs 200 crore, this is the most expensive car in the world

It costs over Rs 200 crore a pop (and no it isn’t bulletproof)

The Rolls Royce Boat Tail could well be the most exclusive car in the market right now. Priced at $28 million or a little over Rs 202 crore, the Boat Tail is said to have been made for just three ultra-high-net-worth clients whose identity has been kept under wraps. Some reports suggest that popstar couple Beyonce and Jay Z may have bought one, but it’s all very speculative.

In any case, the three pieces that have been created are completely custom-made. According to the Rolls Royce Motor Cars CEO, Torsten Muller Otvos, the unnamed clients have driven the design of this exquisite car. Incidentally this is how cars would be made back in the day. Maharajas, Lords, and, Tsars would commission automobiles or train coaches to Rolls Royce whose engineers would work with their exclusive clients and create those masterpieces for them.

The rear of the car opens up in a butterfly gesture and elegantly reveals a parasol that can be opened up as you settle down for a picnic and your butler pulls out your favourite vintage from the double refrigerator that has cooled them to precisely six degrees as well as cutlery and silverware for your day out.

Rolls Royce Boat Tail also features custom-made timepieces by the Swiss timekeeper Bovet 1822. These timepieces can come out and can be used as wristwatches too. The Boat Tail’s glove compartment contains a Montblanc in an exquisite leather and aluminium case just in case you decide to sign a multimillion-dollar deal on the fly.

If you thought this beauty would be bullet proof, note that it's not, because it is a convertible with the roof disappearing into the deck.

The specs for the Rolls Royce Boat Tail are not known but it’s safe to say that it is powered by the same 6.757 litre V12 twin turbo engine that’s under the hoods of Cullinan, Phantom and Ghost.

Really a pity that we won’t know for sure who really owns this piece of beauty, don’t you agree?
