Ahead of the new Premier League season, we look at three Arsenal youngsters who could be set to shine in 2021-22…

Emile Smith Rowe

Fresh from signing his new contract, and being handed the No10 shirt, Smith Rowe is ready to cement his spot in the Arsenal first team.

Last season, it took the 21-year-old until Christmas to break into the side but he should hit the ground running this time.

Big things are expected of the attacking midfielder and he will have a big role to play for Arsenal.

His link-up play with Bukayo Saka was a particular highlight last season and the pair will be vital this year too.

Folarin Balogun

Arsenal worked very hard to tie the forward down to a new contract this summer.

For a long time, it looked as though the 20-year-old would leave and he had interest from clubs in England and abroad.

In the end, Mikel Arteta was able to persuade Balogun to stay and he will be keen to make his mark this season.

There is still an outside chance he could be loaned out and clubs in the Championship, and even the lower half of the Premier League, would undoubtedly be keen on the youngster, who can operate out wide or through the middle.

Miguel Azeez

Arsenal have high hopes for the 18-year-old, who made his debut for the club last season in the Europa League.

A lack of European football will hinder his minutes this season, but he should get opportunities in the cup competitions.

A loan move to the Championship has been mooted, but Azeez may fancy his chances of breaking into Arteta’s plans.

Despite his age, the midfielder is physically strong and his composure on the ball has seen him stand out at youth level.

A goal against Watford capped off a decent pre-season for him.
