AerCap CEO predicts global air traffic at 2019 levels by mid-year

DUBLIN, Jan 16 (Reuters) - The head of the world's largest aircraft lessor, Aercap, on Monday said he expects global air traffic to return to pre-pandemic levels by the middle of this year.

Aengus Kelly said that passengers have less disposable income because of soaring inflation but the travel industry is not competing against as many other sectors for a share of that cash.

"This weekend I spent a lot of time with quite a number of airline CEOs. It was very clear the global view of 2023 is very strong, and I think we'll see a full return to 2019 levels in the middle of the year," Kelly told the Airline Economics conference.
