Advanced Auto Parts targeted; Key Executive move sinks Gap but lifts Ralph Lauren

Time for your daily dose of trending tickers, the stocks you're following based on your Yahoo Finance ticker searches.

Ralph Lauren

Shares of Ralph Lauren (RL) rose sharply higher as its founder steps down as CEO. Mr. Lauren will remain as executive chairman and chief creative office. He'll be replaced by the president of Gap's Old Navy division. Ralph Lauren stressed the move was about taking the company to the next level and not him stepping down.

Gap

Consequently, shares of the Gap (GPS) dropped on the move. The stock was downgraded at several firms to their lowest rating after losing its key executive, including at UBS, Mizuho Securities and Bank of America. Piper Jaffray also revised The Gap to an "underweight" on concerns about the impact of Stefan Larsson's departure.
