HOUSTON (AP) — HOUSTON (AP) — Adams Resources & Energy Inc. (AE) on Wednesday reported a loss of $874,000 in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 34 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 3 cents per share.

The oil and gas company posted revenue of $709.8 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $212,000, or 8 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $2.75 billion.

Adams Resources shares have dropped 5.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $24.74, a drop of 50% in the last 12 months.
