ACS posts 8% rise in first-half net profit, revenues beat forecast

MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish builder ACS on Tuesday posted a smaller-than-expected 8% rise in first-half net profit as it continues to expand its construction services into energy, digital, hi-tech projects and toll roads in North America and Europe.

The company booked a net income of 416 million euros ($450 million) for the first six months of 2024, slightly missing the average of analysts' expectations of 429 million euros, according to an LSEG poll, even as revenues beat expectations.

Some 62% of the group's 18.7 billion euros in total sales in the period, up 10% from a year ago, came from the North American operations. Revenues beat analysts' forecasts of 16.6 billion euros.
