  • For 2025, the Ford Mustang costs more than before if you're opting for the V-8 models.

  • The GT trims start $2600 higher than last year, with the Dark Horse Premium now starting at $69,870 (up $3645).

  • The Mustang EcoBoost models all have the same base prices, but they're no longer offered with the 2.3L High Performance package.

Ford is raising prices on V-8-powered Mustangs, with 2025 models now starting between $2600 and $3645 more than last year. Along with the higher base prices, the entire '25 Mustang lineup sees revised option packages, with four-cylinder models even losing the enthusiast-minded 2.3L High Performance package.

Pricier V-8 'Stangs

The 2025 Ford Mustang GT coupe is the entry point to the 480-hp 5.0-liter V-8. It starts at $47,055, which is $2600 more than before. The Premium version sees the same price increase and starts at $51,575. That higher trim level is also the only way to get a convertible with eight cylinders; it starts at $57,075. The 500-hp Dark Horse sees its base price rise by $2645 to $64,875, and opting for the Premium trim pushes the Dark Horse to $69,870. That's $3645 more than last year.

With the 2025 Mustang lineup now listed on the online configurator, we can see what options have been dropped and what ones have updated pricing. The new 60th Anniversary package, which is only offered on the GT Premium, costs $3995. Previously, swapping the standard six-speed manual for the 10-speed automatic on V-8 models was a $1595 upcharge, but now it's a no-cost option.

Other add-ons now cost between $100 to $300 extra. For example, the GT's Brembo brake kit has risen from $1695 to $1995, the Bronze Appearance package has risen from $1095 to $1195, and choosing the active exhaust system has gone from $1295 to $595. To avoid getting too tedious, there are other minor price changes that we didn't mention. Fans of the 2024 models' Atlas Blue metallic and Dark Matter Gray metallic paint should also know those colors have been discontinued. Now there's a Molten Magenta metallic tri-coat, though. The Dark Horse also no longer comes with an Indigo Blue interior but rather a black one with blue accents.

Performance Pack Disappears

While Mustangs with the EcoBoost turbo four keep the same starting prices, they lose out on the 2.3L High Performance package that previously cost $3475. That kit included a host of upgrades that helped turn the four-cylinder pony car into a better car on-track. Among the upgrades were stickier summer tires, Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, a larger rear anti-roll bar, and an electric handbrake.
