Paper Towels and Toilet Paper

When it comes to bulk paper products — specifically toilet paper and paper towels — Mufetta Krueger, CEO of Muffetta Household Staffing Agency, won’t buy them anywhere else.

“I’ve been an avid Costco fan for years, both personally and professionally,” Krueger said. “Costco offers jumbo packs of toilet paper and paper towels at unbeatable prices. As [a] CEO, I need to ensure that my clients’ homes are always well-stocked with these essentials. Costco’s bulk options not only provide excellent value for money but also help me streamline my procurement process.”

“Kirkland Signature toilet paper [is] affordable, high quality, and comes in bulk, saving me frequent trips to the store,” added Justin Abrams, another Costco superfan and the CEO of Aryo Consulting Group.

In fact, he only ever buys toilet paper at the warehouse club for that very reason.

Garbage Bags

Adam Garfield, marketing director of Hairbro and Costco superfan, said he always buys garbage bags from Costco.

“Working for a hair systems business, I can attest to the importance of having reliable garbage bags on hand,” Garfield said. “The big, sturdy black ones from Costco are essential for containing waste and maintaining cleanliness at home or in the workplace.”

“Kirkland Signature trash bags [are] sturdy and come in large quantities, perfect for our household’s needs,” added Abrams on why he exclusively buys them from Costco.

These bags are also durable enough to handle heavy loads without the risk of spilling or leaking.

Cleaning Supplies

“Costco’s range of cleaning supplies, including multipurpose cleaners, disinfectants, and microfiber cloths, are essential for maintaining the high standards my agency is known for,” Krueger said. “Buying these products in bulk from Costco ensures that I never run out of supplies and helps me manage costs effectively.”

Postage Stamps

Postage stamps are essential for businesses that regularly need to send out invoices, marketing materials or custom orders. For Samuel Jackson, Costco superfan and co-founder at Guyker Music, the stamps he gets at Costco are a must-have.

“As an entrepreneur and co-founder of a guitar and bass parts company, I’ve learned the importance of having postage stamps on hand for both personal and business use,” Jackson said. “I always keep a supply of postage stamps from Costco readily available, so I can avoid last-minute trips to the post office and ensure timely delivery of correspondence.”

Laundry Detergent and Dishwasher Pods

Two specific household products Abrams only ever gets at Costco are laundry detergent and dishwasher pods — both from the Kirkland Signature brand. Both of these products, he said, offer great value for the cost. They also last a long time since they come in bulk, making them more economical for his needs.

Food Storage Containers

“I totally love shopping at Costco for my household essentials,” said Melissa Terry, Costco superfan and CFA at VEM Tooling.

One specific thing she always gets for her household is reusable food storage containers.

“Costco sells different food storage containers that are strong and come in different sizes,” she said. “These containers help me organize leftovers, meal prep ingredients, and store snacks efficiently.”

They also help her cut down on food waste and keep her kitchen organized.

Electronics

When it comes to electronics, Costco has some great deals — something avid fans have long since caught onto.

“Costco has been in our area for over 30 years and we have been with them since day one,” said superfan Lorraine Ballato.

Her household of two always buys electronics from the warehouse club.

“If you want a TV or another electronic device like a computer, laptop, iPad, etc. they are the place,” she said. “Plus, they have what they call ‘concierge service’ to help troubleshoot and solve issues long after the purchase.”

Batteries

Batteries are another exclusive Costco buy for Ballato’s household.

“With all the electronic devices that still use batteries, Costco always can supply them at the best price,” she said. “Invariably, they sell them at a discounted price (even for Costco), so we can stock up. The remote controls for TVs eat them regularly as do smoke and CO2 detectors, etc.”

Krueger added, “As someone constantly on the go, I rely on Costco’s bulk packs of batteries to power essential devices like my smartphone, flashlight, and remote controls. Buying batteries in bulk not only saves me money but also ensures that I never run out of power when I need it most.”

Select Groceries

When it comes to food, Costco has a lot to offer. But for Ballato’s household, three specific items stand out among the rest: eggs, blueberries, and half and half.

“You can’t beat their price on organic eggs ($7/2 dozen). They maintain their freshness for the 2-week period I use them,” Ballato said. “Blueberries are another staple. We buy the non-organic ones that come up from South America and Mexico in the cold months and U.S. states as the weather warms. Essentially, we have blueberries every morning with our breakfast, 365 days/year.”

And here’s what she had to say about half and half.

“[Costco’s] price on half and half (for coffee and some recipes) is always the best ($1.99-$2.29 is the going price range). This is a product that is ultra-pasteurized and can last for weeks. There is no differentiation among various brands and offerings from other stores.”

Kitchen Goods

Adam Wood, a Costco superfan and the co-founder of RevenueGeeks, said he always chooses the warehouse club for kitchen items.

“I buy everything related to the kitchen at Costco, from dishes to cookware,” he said. “There are many amazing deals on kitchen items at Costco that are impossible to resist.”

Two particular items he’s purchased from the warehouse club include a food processor and nonstick cookware, both of which he said are among the best quality he’s ever had.
