Are Legacy Retailers Seeing Benefits from Amazon Partnerships?
Last year, Amazon (AMZN) and department store operator Kohl’s (KSS) entered a partnership that spurred a lot of questions, and some were wondering whether Kohl’s was making a deal with the devil. Because of the rise of online shopping pioneered by Amazon, legacy retailers like Walmart (WMT) and Target (TGT) have been forced to adjust by closing some stores and reducing their workforce amid declining sales and store traffic.
