Stocks Open Higher After Labor Data. The Main Event Is Still to Come.

The stock market’s September struggles abated a bit Thursday morning in the wake of some mixed economic data, and the yield curve continued to normalize. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 104 points, or 0.3%. Wall Street was clamoring for updates on the labor market ahead of Friday’s jobs report.
