Qualcomm Is on the Verge of an AI Moment. CEO Cristiano Amon Is Leading the Way.

Qualcomm shares have rallied more than 50% since Cristiano Amon, an affable Brazilian, became the mobile-phone chip company’s CEO in June 2021, with just about all of that gain accruing since the end of 2023. This will be a big year for Qualcomm, which historically has earned most of its money making processors and radio chips for mobile phones, while licensing its technology to others.
