Vaccine passports strike 'a reasonable balance' for society
The debate over the use of proof of vaccination documents has ramped up in recent weeks as provinces and territories across the country move forward with reopening.
In Ontario, the Science Advisory Advisory Table published a brief saying vaccine certificates could enable the reopening of high-risk settings sooner and at increased capacities. Still, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has said the province will not introduce a vaccine passport.
On this episode of Crisis Management, Alicja Siekierska and the Public Policy Forum’s Sean Speer take a look at the debate around vaccine passports and what Canada can learn from the approach being taken in France. Speer also explains why he thinks policymakers like Ford should "revisit their knee-jerk resistance" to vaccine passports.
