Stock market gains, new Nike CEO, Apple iPhone 16: 3 Things

Stock futures (ES=F, NQ=F, YM=F) are flat after the S&P 500 (^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) rallied and closed at new record highs in Thursday's session.

Nike (NKE) CEO John Donahoe is stepping down to be replaced as president and chief executive by Elliott Hill.

Apple's (AAPL) new iPhone 16 officially goes on sale at retailers and Apple Store locations.

All right, good morning.

Futures are little change this morning after the Dow and the S and P 500 closed at record highs boosted by optimism over the Feds Ray cut the Dow sort about 42,000 while the S and P 500 finished above 5700 stocks are on track for another winning week.

Nike is naming former company executive Elliot Hill CEO.

He retired back in 2020 before that, he was the president of Nike's Consumer and Marketplace Business who will return to the company as CEO and president on October 14th.

Current CEO John Donahoe is retiring effective October 13th and will remain an advisor to the company until January.

The news sent shares of Nike higher and they are continuing that move here free market up by 9% right now.

Roughly Apple new iphone 16 lineup available in stores today.

But it comes without those highly touted A I features, those won't be available until October Apple's New Watch and airpods also available today.
