Sheriff’s office reports 7 drownings since May in Tuolumne County

Seven people have drowned in Tuolumne County waterways since the beginning of May, the sheriff’s office said Monday. The incidents happened at God’s Bath, Rainbow Pools, New Melones Lake and Lake Don Pedro, officials said. The sheriff’s office said crews are currently conducting recovery efforts for three victims from over the weekend on Lake Don Pedro and New Melones Lake. Visitors are reminded to wear a life jacket and follow boating safety rules.
