AKIKO FUJITA: Well, it is closing time here at Yahoo Finance. Here's a look at some of the top stories today.

Coinbase shares plunge after the company was hit with a lawsuit from the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC is alleging Coinbase is operating illegally, because it failed to register as an exchange. Now, Coinbase says it will continue to operate as normal during the litigation process. This came just one day after the SEC targeted Binance in a separate lawsuit. And breaking news, after the close, the SEC is now looking to freeze all Binance US assets around the world through an emergency order.

SEANA SMITH: Turning to merger news. Rocking the sports world after a year of battling, the PGA Tour is merging with Saudi-backed LIV Golf. And as a result of the announcement, all lawsuits will be dropped. Now, today's news paving the way for LIV golfers to return back to the tour. But it's still unclear how that's going to happen.

AKIKO FUJITA: And the Republican primary for the 2024 race just got a lot more crowded. Former New York-- New Jersey Governor Chris Christie filing paperwork for a second run for the White House. It sets himself up for another battle against former President Donald Trump.
