1,000 kg marijuana recovered from abandoned vehicle

Police in West Bengal recovered nearly 1,000 kilograms of marijuana from an abandoned vehicle. According to the police, they laid a trap after receiving tip off that some people with large quantity of marijuana were heading towards Siliguri district from Manipur. However, despite waiting for long hours, the police could not nab the accused. Later, they received another intelligence input that the vehicle carrying the contraband had broken down on its way. The police immediately rushed to the spot and impounded the vehicle. He further said that the marijuana was placed in a hidden pocket of the vehicle.
