Passport ranking reveals Canada's place in the world

The Henley passport index compares how countries will fare as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Canada still remains powerful although it didn't rank as high as previous years and moved down one spot from the last ranking.

Meanwhile, Japan has snagged the top spot with access to a whopping 193 countries.

While the annual lists give some countries reason to celebrate, they can be a source of distress for developing countries that rank towards the end of the list.

2022's ranking in particular shows a massive gap in travel freedoms afforded to the developed countries as opposed to the developing ones.
