Nearly $29M approved in funding for Sacramento business owners

As the state recovers from last year's shutdowns — a ray of hope is still shining down on Sacramento business owners. "We've experienced job loss, particularly in retail and hospitality. You know, many of our restaurants just couldn't make it, so we're now in this moment in time in which those that have weathered this existing storm now have some opportunity to continue to stay focused, continue to stay open," says Amanda Blackwood, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. While some businesses are still shutting doors, the Sacramento City Council approved $29 million as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support local businesses still weathering through the pandemic.
