MARKETS: Dow Inc. powers the Dow higher — YF Premium is bullish on MSFT (MSFT) as TikTok negotiations proceed

Yahoo Finance's Jared Blikre joins Myles Udland to break down the day's price action in stocks as well as a long in Microsoft (MSFT), a Yahoo Finance Premium Investment Idea.

MYLES UDLAND: --here on Yahoo Finance. Let's go over to Jared Blikre for a closer look at this market. Jared.

JARED BLIKRE: Well, we've got stocks marching towards session highs, at least in the Dow, which we're looking at right now. Still up about 91 points, just under a hundred. NASDAQ just dipping into negative territory. Again, been kind of a choppy day for a lot of the FAANG stocks after you take out Apple from the group. And then the S&P 500 up just 4 basis points but still here maintaining most of its gains throughout the day. Has been a pretty choppy, low-volume session.

Going to take a look at the 10-year T-note yield. Worth hitting again because it's down to 52 basis points, and this is the second lowest that we've ever seen it. And also the US Dollar Index, which is lower right now but it had started out the day in the green, that market has been trending down for several months now.

But I want to turn to the Yahoo Finance Premium investment idea of the day, and it is a stock that needs no introduction, Microsoft. And Argus Research is saying they like the way that negotiations are going potentially to buy TikTok. They've been bullish on it anyway, and they have a price target of $235. That would be a record high and represent about 7% upside from here. If you're looking for a stop, you'd probably need to place it at least below the $200 mark.
