Stocks shook off early losses Thursday and climbed to slightly higher ground. Both the Nasdaq and S&P 500 logged new closing highs. CVS health gained 2.4% in fast trade after announcing that it will pay more than $10 billion for drug distributor Omnicare, confirming earlier reports. Best Buy climbed 4% in big volume on a view-topping Q1 earnings report. Salesforce.com topped Q1 estimates late Wednesday, and shares gained 4% Thursday in reaction. On the down side, NetApp plunged 11% after reporting weaker-than-expected earnings late Wednesday.
