Home prices are climbing, but more buyers are getting locked out
The Case-Shiller Home Price Index climbed half a percent in September to set a new all-time high, wiping out all the declines from the Great Recession. On an inflation-adjusted basis, it's still 16% below that 2006 high. However, home prices have increased 5.5% over the last year.
