Haunted House Burns Down in Colorado's Douglas County

Authorities are searching for two people in connection to a “suspicious” fire that destroyed a haunted house attraction in Parker, Colorado, early on Monday, October 25.

South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) said crews arrived at Flat Acre Farms in Douglas County, south of Denver, at 1.22 am and found the fire consuming the ‘Fright Acres Haunted House’ and “spreading rapidly” into a field of straw bales.

Later, SMFR said its investigators had obtained surveillance video showing two people arriving at the property and walking inside. “A short time later, flames are visible in the video,” SMFR said. The fire service urged anyone with information about the two people to contact law enforcement.

“It took 70 personnel over six hours to extinguish the flames that were fanned by gusty winds,” SMFR wrote on Facebook. No one was injured, the fire service said.

The operators of Fright Acres said they were “devastated by the vandalism that took place,” but said they would “persevere and continue through this season.” Credit: South Metro Fire Rescue via Storyful
