Guilbeault is a ‘Greta Thunberg at heart’

Canada’s new environment minister Steven Guilbeault once scaled Toronto’s CN Tower with a banner that read “Canada and Bush - Climate Killers,” referring to former U.S. president George W. Bush.

“His activism past means he’s taken the science seriously for all his life. That makes him very credible in my view. It’s what makes people like [Alberta Premier] Jason Kenney scared of him,” Tom Rand, author of the book Climate Capitalism, told Yahoo Finance Canada’s Editor’s Edition.

He said Guilbeault is “a Greta Thunberg at heart” who adds to the growing circle of climate hawks surrounding Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
