'Golf Ball' Snowflakes Flutter Across Southeastern Wyoming

Large snowflakes were seen in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on Tuesday, October 19, as moderate to heavy snowfall was forecast for parts of the state and Nebraska into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

This footage filmed by NWS Cheyenne shows the wintry scene on Tuesday afternoon. “Golf-ball sized snowflakes are better then golf-ball sized hail,” they wrote in a tweet. “What a coalescence burst!”

The Wyoming Department of Transportation warned of dangerous winter conditions on roads in Albany County, where speed limits were reduced. Credit: NWS Cheyenne via Storyful
