(TSX:GUY.TO - News) (the "Company") today announced the results of an updated Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves estimate (the "R&R Update") and an updated life of mine plan (the "LOM Plan") on its 100% owned Aurora Gold Mine (the "Mine") located in Guyana, South America. Estimated total gold contained in Proven and Probable Mineral Reserves of 2.24 million ounces ("Moz") and estimated total gold contained in Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources (inclusive of Mineral Reserves) of 3.82 Moz, representing a 2% reduction in contained gold in year-over-year total Mineral Reserves.

(GUY.TO) (the "Company") has become aware that a statement of claim was filed on March 18, 2020 with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to commence a proposed class action lawsuit against the Company and its former President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Caldwell . The representative plaintiff named in the statement of claim is seeking an unspecified amount of damages for certain alleged misrepresentations made by the Company in its public disclosure during the period from December 14, 2017 to October 30, 2019 . The Company intends to vigorously defend the claim.
TORONTO, March 18, 2020 /CNW/ - Guyana Goldfields Inc. (TSX:GUY.TO - News) (the "Company") announced that as a result of travel restrictions in and out of Guyana, the Company has temporarily suspended underground development at its 100% owned Aurora Gold Mine (the "Mine") located in Guyana, South America. Following the decision by the Government of Guyana to close its airports to all international air travel except for cargo flights, planes making technical stops and special authorised flights, the Company has decided to suspend underground development at the Mine.
