the 'dividends ' are called 'interest'

does that mean those payments are taxable like gic interest or like dividends from Canadian companies?

I'm still a student and don't have tons of money to put aside but I love this fund. I own 85 shares currently and would really love to get that to at least 200 by the end of the year. Love the monthly dividends and the yield is astounding. It can also easily return to highs in to 20$ range.

BMO has recently cut the monthly distribution for ZWC by 10%, yet the etf is up over 23% in the last 12 months. Distributions have been 0.11 for over 2 years now and have remained stable even through the pandemic. Most if not all stocks held in ZWC have gone up in value and none have cut their dividends. How can BMO justify reducing the distribution to 0.10 at this point in time?

does anyone ever sell when it goes high like this? I know we buy for the dividends, but does anyone ever take gains and repurchase later?

Great place to park some money during unknown. Make money off both sides. With majority of investors in the market being novice traders. This will gain traction for another year at the least. Ill be out around 24.

they cut their dividend cause they didn't make enough premium on their covered calls.
I emailed and got a response to the 10% cut:

Thank you for your email. Please be advised that BMO ETFs do not have fixed distributions, they pay out what is earned. The BMO Canadian High Dividend Covered Call ETF (ZWC), pays out the dividends and call option premiums each month.

I have 2000 shares of this beast in my TFSA. This is really the best dividend ETF on the CAD market.

Just bought in. Was listed in WealthSimple and it was a cheaper ETF so I pulled the trigger. Hope it pays off later on.

Anyone didn't receive their Dividends January 5th?
I had my position along time before the ex dividend date last month and i still don't see it in WealthSimple

Remember if you are seeing the Ex-Dividend date as April 28th this transaction must be settled prior (typically 2 days). So anyone purchasing now until May will receive the dividend for next month not May 5th.

just wondering if everyone got their dividend on the 5th? I usually see mine in my account the next day but I haven't yet...

Why did their dividends go down? It was 11c per share per month and the newest release is only 10c

My largest holding. very happy with the performance in a choppy market and steady distributions!

I'm thinking that their covered calls went a bit south in the past month resulting in the 10% reduction in monthly distribution. Could be wrong, but that would seem to be the most plausible explanation. If you've got another one, feel free to chime in and share.
