Tourmaline has replaced their May Corporate Presentation with an updated version for July - on their website. Has updated pricing & FCF estimates. Outstanding results. Tourmaline's team is to be congratulated on creating a great company with a very solid future.

"Tourmaline disposed of the Topaz Shares as part of a long-term plan to reduce its equity position as Topaz develops and continues to succeed as an independent royalty and infrastructure company. Tourmaline's reduction in Topaz equity is also consistent with its commitment to continue to reduce overall debt levels of Tourmaline and accelerate shareholder returns. The disposition will expand Topaz's free-trading share float and provide new and existing shareholders with enhanced trading liquidity which is in-line with Topaz's strategic objectives."

Another miss to the low side on gas injections to storage in the 'states. Consensus was 22bcf and actual of 15. If Freeport weren't offline, the US would not be putting much natural gas in storage at all. July 8 had Freeport partly online by late fall. And fully by end of year. There's going to be major price competition for North American gas in a few months.
Not sure why anyone would be selling TOU when it looks so promising for at least another $2.45 in dividends beyond Aug 12th in 2022, and then probably similar rates of distribution for a good portion of 2023.
What's not to like with these kinds of dividends, material growth, and stock appreciation ? Seems people have moved from being patient investors to fidgety gamblers, running from casino to casino hoping for the hottest one arm bandit.
    No matter. Good luck.

A large (50%) miss on consensus US storage this am ... actual of 32BCF versus expected 47. If Freeport were operational, the US would have been only trickling gas in to winter storage. As it is, they need a lot more to replace volumes. And the US heat wave expands and continues.
Bodes well for natural gas pricing and TOU.

Why is this company down on a day where natural gas is up 10%.
Do people still think this is primarily a crude oil company? Big time buying opportunity.

With the (Cdn) feds not supporting the expansion of the oil & gas sector in Canada vis a vis new oil or gas pipelines beyond what has belatedly been approved, it has become obvious Canada's dollar is no longer identified as a 'petrodollar'. The repercussions are hitting Cdn energy consumers in the pocketbook proportionally moreso -- in 'olden days' our dollar would have risen to be close to par w/ the $US at these commodity prices, and gasoline and oil byproducts would be close to 25% cheaper than they currently are in $Cdn. Same with natural gas & it's byproducts.
I think consumers have a right to understand it is not just the 'Ukrainian' situation creating the big hit on the pocketbooks because of high oil & natural gas prices. Federal gov't energy policy is probably more to blame.
But a company like TOU exports a good portion of it's natural gas production, and so is paid in $US while having the majority of costs in $Cdn. Makes a big, and good, difference to their bottom line having a low $Cdn.
This sub-$0.77 Cdn dollar is like a boost of $0.20/mcf or more.
