Temenos names new CEO, says sales hit by Hindenburg report
(Reuters) -Temenos reported first-quarter total software licensing revenue of $84 million on Tuesday, falling short of estimates, and announced the appointment of Jean-Pierre Brulard as chief executive. Brulard, whose appointment will be effective May 1, will replace interim CEO Andreas Andreades, who was repeatedly put under pressure to step down by activist shareholder Petrus Advisers. Total licensing revenue in the first quarter came in below the consensus estimate of $100.2 million compiled by the Swiss banking software group, with subscription sales down 41% year-on-year.

Temenos soars after report calls Hindenburg claims 'inaccurate'
Temenos shares surged 18% on Monday after a special committee appointed by the financial software company said allegations made by Hindenburg Research were "inaccurate and misleading". The report by the U.S. financial research firm "presented purported facts about Temenos in a distorted manner or out of context," the Swiss company said in a statement. The report, released in February, wiped out nearly a third of Temenos's stock market value.
