U.S.-based EV stocks jumped in early trading today, including widely followed Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN), struggling start-up Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ: RIDE), and heavy truck maker Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA). Global auto giant Volkswagen announced it was selling a minority stake in its privately owned EV charging network Electrify America. Siemens, through its investment arm, is making a $450 million equity investment to help Electrify America grow its charging network in the U.S. and Canada.
Gatik CEO and co-founder Gautam Narang joins Yahoo Finance Live to discuss how the company is scaling its self-driving trucking business.
In short, Ford stock's 33% year-to-date drop offers an attractive buying opportunity for long-term investors. Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ: RIDE) has been struggling for a year now, after being the target of a short-seller. In 2021, Lordstown's number of outstanding shares already rose by 28 million, to 196.4 million.
