Well - the GOOD news is it appears gold may have finally disconnected from the overall market selling. SPY took a 17 handle #$%$ whoopin and gold is flat. Hopefully it can make that u-turn north and get to running!
Buy or be bought?! I'm reading the addition of the new guy as they are thinking Canadian, just not sure which way the deal would go. There are a number of broke but promising Canadian mines (thinking Pure Gold) and KRR has cash and a cash cow so could go that way or Maybe Kinross wants to continue to completely change their profile. Any thoughts amongst those who know better?

So due to labor shortages they had a 3rd party run some of their ore. And at a loss. I'd rather they just produce less and stockpile the ore for a later date, especially when they mill upgrade will be able to handle the additional tons.
A red flag goes up, when they are more concerned about meeting production goals than doing some profitably. This was the 1st quarter, so they had plenty of time to make up the difference. Especially, as they say, "it's temporary".
Even after running to $2,000 earlier this year, Goldman Sachs says gold could run to $2,500 by the end of the year—especially with fears of a potential recession.
In the conference call they disclosed some short-term issues - plus gold has been under pressure. But I think the selling was overdone. I made several purchases as the price dropped. They're sitting on a lot of nickel and gold.
I think we should see the earnings out tomorrow with a detailed analysis of the cash spend on the ramp
That's what I thought....
Karora Announces 22% Increase to Nickel Mineral Resources Highlighted by Maiden Resource for the 50C Trend; Beta Hunt Nickel Mineral Resource Now Totals 19,600 Nickel Tonnes for Measured and Indicated and 13,200 Nickel Tonnes for Inferred
Mining Veteran Tony Makuch Joins Karora Team As Special Advisor
Tony Makuch has over 35 years of mining industry experience and was previously President, CEO and "Director of Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd ("Kirkland"). During his five-year tenure as CEO of Kirkland, Mr. Makuch led the transformation of the company, with annual gold production increasing from 315,000 oz to over 1,400,000 oz, the market capitalization of the company increasing from approximately $1 billion to over $13 billion and Kirkland's share price increasing over 530%. These milestones were achieved on the back of two successful acquisitions, industry-leading operational performance and significant exploration success and ultimately culminated in Kirkland's merger with Agnico Eagle Mines Limited in 2022."
KRR is currently up 2% this morning with the TSX @ 5:1 sell volume; buy/sell @ 50k/250k and the re-directed volume way back down @ only 30%, half of what it was earlier this week. Hmm the mm's must see that we are already up on substantial TSX sell volume, so why bother hiding any additional demand. Coincedence...I think not.
Before buying on these declines. I will wait for stability. Nickel down to 27100, gold 1810 and workers with covid, Russia, time will tell...
Games being played today...run it up .20, walk it down .20, over and over. Sure would be nice to have some transparency and see that other 60% of demand volume out in the open on the TSX even'ng the playing field a bit.
The Fed is playing ping pong on a shorter and shorter time table. If they do raise rates, they will be forced to cut rates in the not too distant future when they have eroded demand so much that that they are afraid of deflation. Then quickly raise when inflation becomes a problem again. The cycle will get shorter and shorter and rates will bounce between 2 and 0%. Maybe the next time they have to become stimulative, they will be forced to go to negative rates, but we already have "real" negative rates.
All depends if you’re a trader or an investor I’ve been investor for over three years now and just keep adding to my position on the dips I think it was warren Buffett who said I own a farm and I don’t track what it’s worth every day investors aren’t interested in one day one week one month movement’s they’re interested in the trajectory direction the company is taking
Our company is reinvesting their cash to double the production rate it’s all good as far as I’m concerned
Who needs earnings right? ffs where are they.
Kilometers of tunnels, to work gold n nickel .
