Last chance to board $JETS? Fundamentally speaking, if you think about where airlines are going in the next 1 to 2 years, I'm pretty sure you can make a case that it will be better than now. I think at the current moment, it's experiencing the worst situation -- COVID and the delta variant, the slow churn of reopenings and restrictions. Having a look at the past year chart (post-covid), we peaked in Mar 2021 where I think Delta fears came around again, and that was reflected in JETS, rightfully so. Cases of Delta has subsisded as you can see from the John Hopkins daily cases tracker here (https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/new-cases). Cases in the US peaked again around September and around May for India. Of course, there may be more strains in the future that we are going to have to deal with, but with more people getting vaccinated, and as pharmaceutical research continues to develop, I think we will be better suited to handle any future spikes.

On another note related to inflation, I think investors are increasingly seeking out companies that have "pricing power" because companies with pricing power are able to pass on the costs more easily to the consumer. Naturally, these "price makers" are monopoly or oligopoly type firms. I might be wrong here, but what better oligopoly exists than the major airlines. Barriers to entry are high and I don't think you can start an airline overnight. Furthermore, if you're talking about buying into firms with pricing power, I don't know any other product out there where the prices for a product can change within the day/hour/week like flight prices. And the fact that people buy tickets even after a 30% increase just speaks to the fact that a flight to Mexico or overseas just isn't really that substitutable -- are you going to drive or take a boat?

So, I think there is value here and my sentiments are bullish on JETS. It will depend on your time horizon. I think that you can quote that Oil prices are high now yes, so it will affect their next quarter and maybe the quarter after that. But if you're looking out well ahead, can you really forsee the entire airline industry doing much worse than it is doing now? given that COVID is subsiding and things are reopening.

I"m not sure about this. Much higher fuel prices might offset the increase in travel. While airline tickets are low now they will go up because fuel costs have gone up. So will their earnings go up because of increase in ticket sales or will they remain the same because it will be offset by the higher fuel prices? I don't know enough about this industry to know if this is a good investment.

TSA travelers were 2,169,783 on Friday, the most in over 2 months. With Delta variant no longer alarming, JETS will rocket over the next few weeks as airlines report positive results and outlook!
